Jade Bird Shares New Song "Uh Huh"

Originally hailing from the UK, Jade Bird is turning heads as she put a fresh spin on American roots music. One of few artists at this year's Stagecoach not from North America, the 20 year old singer didn't find inspiration from music released in her childhood. No, she continues the tradition of British musicians who discovered blues artists and brought the form back to the states. She released her EP Something American (surprising name right?) that included a cover of Son House's "Grinnin' In Your Face". We also got the first taste of her songwriting skills on "Cathedral". Then she gave us "Lottery", a catchy song with an Americana twist.

Now she's back with another song that will get get stuck in your head called "Uh Huh".This time her voice is filled with passion and just a little bit of anger. Usually you wouldn't think a song called "Uh Huh" is well written, but her abilities as a songsmith shines through. No word on when a debut album is coming, but she seems to be working her way towards one. Bird's next visit to Los Angeles features a headline set at the historic Troubadour on September 7th.
