Lucius - The SoCal Sound Interview with Hillary Gordon
Ahead of the release of Lucius (self-titled)
Before their show at the historic Mason Lodge at Hollywood Forever
Before hitting they hit the stage at the historic Masonic Lodge at Hollywood forever, The SoCal Sound's Saturday Afternoons host Hillary Gordon was able to sit down with Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe - otherwise known as Lucius for a chat about the new self-titled album Lucius.
The SoCal Sound has been supporting Lucius in their efforts all the way back to Wilde Woman, in fact they recorded a cover of My Morning Jacket's "Wonderful" at The SoCal Sound's studios, which later went onto a deluxe edition of Wilde Woman.
This interview was filmed the day before the album release, Jess describes the new release and the upcoming tour as "we've been working really hard to create, a world for people to escape into. And, the arrangements are really rich and, dynamic, and, everyone's sort of playing a zillion roles at once, so anything could fall apart at any moment."
Both are now parents, Jess's son who is now 5 months describes now bringing children onto tour "Kids, bring a levity. You know, like you, you have to be present, and you have to let the like you have to let shit roll off in a way that won't if they're not there. Right. And so I think it's actually been really healthy for our band fam. Yeah. To have kids around and yeah, I mean, I'm, I'm excited to bring him and show him the world."
All SoCal Sound Session, interviews, and performances are filmed and edited by Matt Blake, recorded and mixed by Tristan Dolce.
The new self-titled album Lucius is out now on vinyl LP and available everywhere you get music!
