Tim Showalter, better known as Strand Of Oaks, is out to prove that rock's not dead. Furthermore, he's out to prove that you can still be incredibly creative with rock. Today he shared "Weird Ways", the first single from his upcoming album Eraserland out on March 22nd.
Members of My Morning Jacket are not only his backing band on this new release, they are the reason its coming out. After 2017's Hard Rain, depression took hold of Showalter and he retreated to the Jersey Shore. Carl Broemel got in touch with Showalter to bring him out to Louisville and record the next Strand Of Oaks album while the band members were all available. Showalter dug in deep to his mind while on the beach and wrote what eventually became Eraserland. The album also features Jason Isbell as Showalter will continue to dive deep into pushing the boundaries of rock.
Strand Of Oaks is also going on tour with an appearance at Teragram Ballroom in Downtown LA on April 22.
