I am slowly falling more and more in love with Kevin Morby (don't tell Jason Friday). :) We got to see him play live in Philly a couple weeks ago and he did not disappoint.
On Friday (5/15), Mr. Morby came out with his eighth studio album "Little Wide Open."
Personally, Morby is partnered with Katie Crutchfield from Waxahatchee (they're expecting a baby, btw). They split their time in Kansas City and Los Angeles. The album has themes about Morby's Midwestern homeland and the adventures that have carried him far from it, on isolation and connection, on reckless youth and hard-won maturity, on how to navigate this life and what makes it worth living.
The record was produced by Aaron Dessner from the National and features Lucinda Williams and Justin Vernon from Bon Iver, among others.
We'll dive into this record each weekday this week just after 12-Noon as part of 88-5 ALBUM DIVE on the SoCal Sound. Excited to bring you this record.
