Alternative rock band Olive Vox joined Matt Pinfield for a powerful live session and conversation on The SoCal Sound, performing “BABYDOLL,” “14 Years,” and “We Are Not The Same.”
Originally formed between Orange County and Texas, Olive Vox blend modern alternative rock with the spirit of the bands that raised them — from Smashing Pumpkins and Soundgarden to Stone Temple Pilots and Nine Inch Nails.

During the session, Matt Pinfield praised the band’s breakout single “BABYDOLL,” calling it “the swagger that rock and roll needs right now.”

The band opened up about their early musical influences, growing up together as brothers, forming the group in Texas, and eventually being discovered by Big Machine Records after a tour stop in Nashville.

One of the most emotional moments of the conversation centered around the song “14 Years,” inspired by the passing of the brothers’ father. The band discussed channeling grief into creativity and how music became both an outlet and a driving force behind their momentum.

Olive Vox also reflected on hearing themselves on the radio for the first time, touring with bands like Local H and The Toadies, and the excitement surrounding the next chapter of the band.
